My take-aways. Only use airlines you trust and ones that are in an alliance with other airlines. Try to book direct flights to avoid layovers that can be costly in time and hidden expenses like lost or misplaced luggage. Be your own counsel when planning sights to see on a trip. Try to go in times of the year less populous to avoid crowds. Don’t listen to Aunt Martha or Uncle Fred who had bad experiences and assume you will too. Take what they say with a huge grain of salt.
