Very helpful, worthwhile tips to remember. Is the price too good to be true? Always check comparable listings, check to be sure you are not being taken. Photos or lack of photos can tell you a lot about a place. Are there stock photos of things to see rather than your place to stay? Look for specifics on your place to stay. The more you know, the better. Also, are the pics close-ups that block off things you need to see about a place? May be something they are hiding. Be aware! Is the place kept clean? Read all reviews or no reviews. If no reviews, Buyer beware but do ask first!! Are the reviews AI generated? If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. Always ask plenty of questions. If the reviews are not specific enough, be aware. The reviews must be responsive to your needs at all times. If your host asks you to pay off platform (Air B&B). Always check the B&B ground rules first. Be aware of insane cleaning fees. Is the host too vague about the place? Ask for specifics. Does the place have hidden inside cameras? Odd thing, but worth looking into. Ask about check in-check-out times to be prepared. If the owner/host wants to meet you in a public place to drop off the key that may be a red flag. Should be done discreetly and in a private place or in a locked box with a code for entry. My thanks to Wolters World for sharing.
